Abstract
Reading skills are a fundamental part of the development of communicative competencies that include elements of syntax and semantics to interpret communicative events. In the case of visually impaired people, the development of these skills is affected throughout their training process in the learning environments in which they are immersed and that lack tools, resources or strategies for educational innovation that respond to their own needs. For a good integral development of blind people it is required to acquire skills in reading and writing through the use of alternative codes such as the Braille system, which represents the way to access information and transmit the knowledge learned, in this sense, proposing interactive multimedia as a strategy to help strengthen the reading and writing processes of the Braille system through the implementation of tactile and auditory resources facilitates the student to internalize and improve aspects of language for syntactic organization, semantics and phonological awareness. The importance of this qualitative research is based on the implementation of the participatory action research (PAR) methodology, which uses the systematization of the experiences obtained in the application of the instruments that lead to the expected results as a technique for collecting information. The learning of Braille literacy is observed as an analytical-associative process that allows interaction with information that strengthens thinking skills, making possible the planning, organization and self-regulation of learning; therefore, the appropriation of the Braille system codes in blind people, together with the accompaniment of the teacher and the use of teaching strategies, becomes an opportunity to develop competencies and improve the results in the acquisition of literacy.
