EL SISTEMA DE ENSEÑANZA MUTUA Y LA CULTURA CÍVICA DURANTE LOS PRIMEROS AÑOS DE LA REPÚBLICA INDEPENDIENTE DE MÉXICO

Abstract (es)

Durante los primeros años de la independencia de México, el discurso relativo a la educación, se caracterizó por la preocupación acerca de la creación de una cultura cívica cano y autónomo. En este artículo se examina la significación política de las prácticas pedagógicas y de los métodos más utilizados y aprobados durante este periodo para la consecución de las metas del sistema de enseñanza mutua o lancasteriana. La primera parte consiste un breve análisis acerca de la introducción de este sistema en México. En la segunda, se examinan las formas en que este sistema fue percibido y adoptado, junto con los atributos cívicos y republicanos que le fueron conferidos. Se compara el disccurso de los manuales editados en México con los publicados en Inglaterra, su país de origen. En la ultima sección se aborda la manera específica en que se perscribió la enseñanza cívica dentro del sistema; esto incluye un análisis de los textos escolares de educación cívica, conocidos como "catecismos políticos" y, en particular, de la forma como fueron empleadas las estrategias retóricas para controlar el aprendizaje.

ABSTRACT

During the first period in early independent Mexico the discourse related to the educational aspect, was characterized by the conocem about the creation of civic culture. That corresponded to a new autonomous and republican order. This article revises the political meaning if the educational practices and the most applied strategies during this period in order achieve the goals of the of the Lancasterian and mutual system.First part consists of the brief analysis of it's introduction of this system in Mexico. Second part revises the ways how this system was adapted and percetived, and how some of the civic attributes were conferred to this system. Discourse of the textbooks in Mexico is composed to that of the book published in England. Also this work analyses the the specific manners how the civic instruction was prescribed within the system, including a review of the civic catechisein dealing with the teaching of the civic education.
