LA ESCUELA DE ESTUDIOS HISPANOAMERICANOS DE SEVILLA: PROCESO DE CONFIGURACIÓN DE SU IDENTIDAD

Abstract (es)

Fundada en 1942, la Escuela de Estudios Hispanoamericanos ha venido desarrollando una intensa labor en la formación de historiadores e investigadores y en el fomento de contactos científicos entre los países caribeños. No obstante, su actividad se inicia a principios del Siglo XX cuando la ciudad de Sevilla se convierte en el centro neurálgico para la docencia e investigación hispanoamericana. El presente trabajo pretende rescatar los antecedentes de
la Escuela hispalense, analizando su proceso de configuración y desarrollo en una etapa de la historia de España marcada por la Guerra Civil y la Dictadura de Franco.

ABSTRACT
Founded in 1942 the School of Spanish-American Studies has been performing an intense work in the formation of historians and investigators and in the promotion of scientific contacts between the Caribbean countries. Nevertheless, its gait begins at the beginning of the 20th century when the city of Seville turns into the neuralgic center for the teaching and Spanish-American investigation. The present work tries to rescue the precedents of the sevillian School, analyzing its process of configuration and development in a stage of the history of Spain marked by the Civil War and the Dictatorship of Franco.
