Abstract
El derecho a la vida, es tal vez el derecho fundamental más importante de todos, el cual a pesar de estar reconocido por el derecho positivo, tiene su origen, mucho antes de la existencia de éste, esto por cuanto está íntimamente ligado, a la condición de ser persona, y hace parte de su dignidad, lo cual lo hace inalienable, e inmutable, y se subdivide en dos principios, la inviolabilidad de la vida, y la dignidad de la vida humana. El presente artículo, redactado para la revista LEGEM, trata de precisar el alcance, de ese derecho fundamental, especialmente desde el punto de vista internacional.

ABSTRACT
The right to life, is perhaps the most important fundamental right of all, which despite being recognized, by positive law has its origin, long before the existence of this, this because it is closely linked, to the condition of being a person, and is part of their dignity, which makes it immutable and inalienable, and is subdivided into two principles, the sanctity of life, and the dignity of human life. This article, written for the review LEGEM (Colombia), tries to clarify the scope, of this fundamental right, especially from the international point of view.
