DISCIPLINAR EL “BÁRBARO” QUE SE LLEVABA ADENTRO: UN ACERCAMIENTO A LA LEY DEL BUEN CIUDADANO DEL SIGLO XIX

Este trabajo tiene como propósito ofrecer un acercamiento al papel que jugó el géneromenor de prácticas discursivas en el proyecto de construcción nacional de finales delXIX latinoamericano. Este acercamiento se hace desde una perspectiva que reconoce elvínculo histórico entre discurso y poder, y, por ende, entre estas prácticas orientadas adictaminar los comportamientos que debían asumir los nuevos ciudadanos, conforme alos códigos de la “civilización”, el diseño del imaginario nacional y los reacomodos delpoder en los nacientes Estados-nación. Para ello, se ha tomado como fuente ejemplar untexto publicado por primera vez en el año de 1854: el Manual de urbanidad y buenasmaneras para uso de jóvenes de ambos sexos, del venezolano Manuel Antonio Carreño.

ABSTRACT

This work it must like intention offer an approach to role that the smaller sort played ofdiscursivas practices in the project of national construction of end of XIX Latin American.This approach becomes from a perspective that it recognizes the historical bond betweenspeech and power, and, therefore, between these oriented practices a to consider thebehaviors that had to assume the new ones citizens, according to the codes of the «civilization», the design of imaginary national and the new organization of the powerin the State-nation. Para it, has taken like exemplary source a text published by firsttime in the year of 1854: Manual of politeness and good ways for use of young peopleof both sexes, of the Venezuelan Manuel Antonio Carreño.
