Abstract
Sustainability is not only a topic that worries academics, it is a survival tool in the chaos that any country faces today, especially Latin America. One of their interests is to serve vulnerable sectors intimidated by aggressive capitalist practices in order to stimulate sustainable development sustained by their own work, which stimulates food production and favors compliance with SDG No. 2 "Zero Hunger". For this reason, this article intends to describe the sustainable actions carried out by the organization Educe Sociedad Cooperativa (Educe S.C. hereinafter) from the point of view of the Mayan indigenous communities of the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico, under a model descriptive study based on the review of secondary sources, semi-structured interviews and observation. In this sense, the production of honey is a complementary activity of the peasant, who has a pressing market in exports, although a growth of the national market is expected; especially, for organic or chemical-free honey. Finally, Educe S.C. As an organization that collects organic honey, it offers positive results to farmers with its practice of fair trade and the strengthening of the community that develops organic beekeeping.
