El papel de la inteligencia artificial en el Upstream de la Industria Petrolera: una revisión

Resumen
Este artículo de revisión aborda la integración y aplicación de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) en la industria de los hidrocarburos, destacando su papel transformador en la optimización de procesos, la sostenibilidad y la toma de decisiones. Profundiza en múltiples aspectos de la IA, desde el aprendizaje automático hasta las redes neuronales convolucionales, utilizadas en el ‘upstream’ del petróleo, que abarca la exploración, la perforación y la producción. Se examinan técnicas de aprendizaje automático como SVM y ANN, aplicadas para predecir las propiedades de los yacimientos con el objetivo de mejorar la eficiencia en la exploración petrolera. Se discuten perspectivas futuras, incluido el aprendizaje profundo en operaciones sísmicas y la identificación y mitigación de la contaminación. Se enfatiza el potencial de la IA en la ingeniería de yacimientos para agilizar los cálculos, mejorar los procesos de escalado y optimizar la producción. A pesar de los avances, se reconocen desafíos como la gestión de datos a gran escala y la inversión tecnológica. El artículo concluye que la colaboración entre expertos en hidrocarburos y tecnólogos de IA será fundamental para superar los desafíos y aprovechar plenamente las oportunidades en la convergencia de estos campos, allanando el camino hacia una industria de hidrocarburos más eficiente y sostenible.
