Generalidades de Malva sylvestris, composición química y actividades biológicas. Una revisión

Resumen
Malva sylvestris es una especie originaria de Europa, Asia y África del Norte, pertenece a la familia Malvaceae. En Colombia, es considerada una planta maleza, sus órganos, específicamente hojas, raíz, fruto y semilla contienen diversos compuestos como taninos, flavonoides y compuestos fenólicos; a los cuales se les reporta actividades antimicrobianas, antinociceptivas, hepatoprotectoras, cicatrizantes, anticancerígenas y antiinflamatorias; a nivel etnomedicinal se ha utilizado para cáncer y tratamiento de heridas como cicatrizante. La recopilación de esta información se realizó a través de una búsqueda bibliográfica en bases de datos con las palabras claves utilizando la metodología PRISMA, donde se usaron artículos científicos de revistas indexadas. Esta especie tiene potencial para el desarrollo e investigación de nuevos productos farmacéuticos para el tratamiento de diversas patologías.
