Abstract
Work represents, in modern societies, a primary path for the development of personal identity and for the social insertion of individuals, consisting of different practices that generate meaning and promote values. However, the carrying out of work is being significantly altered due to the economic, technological and institutional changes that are taking places in recent times. Participation in the economic and labor world is increasingly complex, forcing a reformulation of the process of setting up identity, of the values and principles on which it is sustained. Hence the need to introduce ethical reflection on the consequencies that the processes of change in the capitalist economic system have on the organization of societies and people´s lives.
