El Multiculturalismo, como Estrategia Pedagógica de Integración en América Latina

Abstract

RESUMEN

Si los diferentes países del mundo poseen en su territorio grupos etnoculturales diversos y enormes, no deberían existir, entonces, razones suficientes y valederas para justificar la inexistencia de políticas multiculturales. Pero muy a pesar de ello, son pocos los que, para buscar la integración cultural, han adoptado el multiculturalismo como estrategia y mucho menos para definir y desarrollar una política de Estado, clara y coherente, con lo que, a veces, sus dirigentes predican. Pero sería injusto el análisis, si no admitiéramos que en nuestro continente es mucho lo que se ha avanzado, en la última década, en teoría y práctica sobre el tema. Por ejemplo, en el mundo universitario e intelectual la discusión ha arrojado como resultado la existencia de una abundante literatura sobre este, tanto es así, que hoy podríamos decir que tenemos un Marco Teórico sobre el multiculturalismo; además, muchos proyectos y programas elaborados por los gobiernos, las organizaciones Nsociales, las fundaciones y organismos internacionales interesados en la integración y desarrollo cultural de los pueblos.

ABSTRACT

If the different countries of the world have in their territory ethno culturally diverse groups, there should not exist sufficient reasons to justify the absence of multicultural policies. But in spite of this, there are few who, in the search for cultural integration, have adopted multiculturalism as a strategy and let alone to develop a clear and consistent state policy.

But it would be unfair to the analysis if we did not admit that there has been progress made in our continent in the last decade. For example, in the academic and intellectual world the discussion has resulted in the existence of a vast literature about it, that today we could say we have a theoretical framework on multiculturalism, as plenty of projects and programs developed by governments, social organizations, foundations and international organizations interested in integration and cultural development of peoples.
