As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • El texto cumple con los requisitos bibliográficos y de estilo indicados en las Normas para autoras/es, que se pueden encontrar en Acerca de la revista.
  • Si esta enviando a una sección de la revista que se revisa por pares, tiene que asegurase que las instrucciones en Asegurando de una revisión a ciegas) han sido seguidas.

Types of articles

In order to meet the scientific quality criteria required by the Editorial Committee of the Amauta magazine, articles can be:

Article of scientific and technological research. Document that presents, in detail, the original results of completed research projects. The generally used structure contains four important sections: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.

Reflection article. Document that presents the results of finished research from an analytical, interpretive or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.

Review article. Document resulting from a completed investigation where the results of published or unpublished research on a field in science or technology are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in order to account for progress and trends in development. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.

Short article. Brief document that presents preliminary or partial original results of a scientific or technological investigation, which generally require prompt dissemination.

Case report. Document that presents the results of a study on a particular situation in order to publicize the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case. Includes an annotated systematic review of the literature on analogous cases.

Review of topic. Document resulting from the critical review of the literature on a particular topic.

Review: brief writing that informs and at the same time values ​​a work or a cultural product; Its fundamental characteristic lies in describing and issuing an evaluative judgment in favor or against.

Letters to the editor. Critical, analytical or interpretive positions on the documents published in the journal, which in the opinion of the Editorial Committee constitute an important contribution to the discussion of the subject by the scientific community of reference.

Editorial. Document written by the editor, a member of the editorial committee or a guest researcher on guidelines in the journal's subject area.

Translation. Translations of classic or current texts or transcripts of historical documents or documents of particular interest in the journal's publication domain.

If the article does not correspond to any of the categories established by the journal or does not comply with the formal presentation requirements, it will be returned to its author, who may return it to the editor when it meets the requirements. The Editorial Committee grants priority to the publication of research articles.

The articles sent to the Amauta magazine must be unpublished and the original Word file must be written with a space and a half (including references), in Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12 and its length should not exceed 25 pages. Articles will be received in Spanish and English.

The first page of the article must contain:

Article title, no more than 12 words. (In Spanish and English)

Full name of the author or authors.

At the foot of the author's name, the following must be specified: Academic titles and institutional affiliation, position currently held, main address, city, country and email address.

At the foot of the title of the article, it should be indicated: source of financing of the project from which the article that is presented (if applicable), subsidies and supports received for the preparation of the project.

The second page must contain: a summary of no more than 15 lines that describes the purposes of study or research, the methodology used and the most important conclusions. At the end of the abstract, the author should add and indicate as such, from three to ten "keywords" or short sentences that help the indicators to classify the article, which will be published together with the abstract. Authors are recommended to provide their own translation of the abstract into English, which should also include a list of keywords.
