El ensayo tiene como punto de partida al diablo, en una visión aculturizada de su figura, pero también toma en cuenta otros motivos del campo popular como la fitoterapia regional, las informaciones compartidas mediante el diálogo, y algunos constructos de la paremiografía (exageraciones, refranes y jitanjáforas).La indagación se guía a partir de principios básicos de la sociología contemporánea, el folclor, la cultura popular y el análisis del discurso.   PALABRAS CLAVES Cultura popular, oralidad, cultura letrada, diablo, fitoterapia regional, paremiografía, simbiosis dialógica, estrategias discursivas.   ABSTRACT This work analyzes two short stories by Jose Felix Fuenmayor and Guillermo Tedio, intending to exalt the incorporation of cultural and popularelements in a fictional way conceived by these two storytellers. The essay has as a main character the devil, described within the local culture, takingin to account popular elements such asphy to therapy, the use of herbal medicine, shared information through the dialog and exaggerated narrative.
