Resumen
El presente artículo postula cómo en la
novela La última noche que pasé conti-
go (1991), de la cubana Mayra Montero,
los personajes principales se caracte-
rizan por mostrar una forma de darle
rienda suelta a los sentimientos más
ocultos que dejan al descubierto deseos
reprimidos, los cuales son cristalizados
al transgredir las normas impuestas por
la sociedad occidental. La metodología
de análisis utilizada es la hermenéutica,
desde una estética de la recepción que
contribuye a darle sentido e interpre-
tación a la obra narrativa en cuestión,
contribuyendo a interpretar aspectos de
la narración. Como conclusión, se des-
taca que la narradora quiere mostrar las
transgresiones de unos esposos sumi-
dos en el aburrimiento matrimonial, los
deseos obscuros y los pensamientos re-
primidos y libertinos.

Abstract
This article suggests how in the novel La
última noche que pasé contigo (1991)
of the Cuban writer Mayra Montero, the
main characters are characterized by
showing a way to unleash the hidden
feelings and desires, which are crystal-
lized to transgress the rules imposed
by Western society. The methodology
of analysis we used is hermeneutics,
from an aesthetic of reception that give
meaning and interpretation to the narra-
tive in question, contributing to interpret
aspects of the narrative. In conclusion,
we emphasize that the narrator wants
to show the transgressions of a couple
mired in marital boredom, dark desires,
repressed and libertine thoughts. The
protagonists of the story sustain their life
together and their emotions by means
of bolero, the musical genre that mixes
itself with their passions, giving a cycli-
cal sense to the whole story in which the
suggestive music merges itself with their
secrets, passions and sexual labyrinths.
