Comportamiento microestructural y al desgaste abrasivo de la aleación Moldmax HH (C17200) sometida a ciclos térmicos

Sinopsis

Respecto a los materiales de ingeniería, las aleaciones base hierro son las más utilizadas en aplicaciones que involucren condiciones de desgaste abrasivo, (por ejemplo: los aceros para herramienta tipo D, los aceros austeníticos al manganeso y las fundiciones aleadas al alto cromo). En cuanto a las aleaciones no ferrosas, sobresalen las aleaciones base cobre, (por ejemplo, los latones [Cu?Zn], bronces [Cu?Sn] y aleaciones Cu-Be). Sin embargo, para el caso de los latones y bronces, su aplicación se ve limitada debido a su microestructura porque tienden a presentar un comportamiento monofásico, así mismo, su resistencia mecánica dependerá del tamaño de grano y del grado de solubilidad de los elementos de aleación. Por otro lado, las aleaciones cobre-berilio presentan un comportamiento termodinámico más complejo, lo cual permitiría obtener microestructuras eutectoides similares a la de los aceros. Adicionalmente, este tipo de aleaciones permitirían la aplicación de tratamientos térmicos de envejecido, favoreciendo los fenómenos de precipitación de compuestos de segunda fase e incrementando su resistencia mecánica.
